Building a library of #CoronaFairytales

Let's take the opportunity that families around the world are at home and show our children that through collaboration, we can create a better world.

How does it work?

Create a tale through collaboration with a group of children in your school, your association or group of friends. One child starts with a phrase, and the others, one by one, add a new phrase. At the end of the period, the group consolidates all phrases and publishes a CoronaFairytale

Rules

1) The phrases have to be short

2) A child can not make a second or third intervention until at least 3 children have contributed a phrase (it will depend on the size of the group)

3) The phrase can be about anything, but if the child understands the flow, a "proper" tale will be created

4) No need to rush! The group can contribute during the period you decide. For example, it can be decided that you "close" the tale at 8pm or whenever it suits the group

5) Warning! In twitter the maximum length is 2'20 secs. Below you will find some instructions for editing audio and video.

6) Load your tale on social media with the hashtag #CoronaFairytales

How can you find CoronaFairytales?

Search for #CoronaFairytales in social media. We have already opened a Twitter account @CoronaContes, which we will use to retweet your CoronaFairytales so that as many children as possible can see them. You may search for #CoronaContes to find them in Catalan, and maybe in the future in other languages too.

How can you create your video or audio posts?

If you would like to do a CoronaFairytale with audio (no images):

1. Record the audio files of each child at home and share them through whatsapp (or messenger of choice) with the other parents

2. When you have all audios, you can download them to a desktop (through the "share" function, you can send them via email)

3. You can use any audio editing program. An easy one we have found online is https://audio-joiner.com/, where you will be able to upload each audio, edit them and join them in a single file that you can download as an mp3

4. The last step will be to convert the audio mp3 file to a mp4 in order to upload it to social media. There are many programs available. One that we have found easy to use is https://video.online-convert.com/convert/mp3-to-mp4

If you would like to do a CoronaFairytale in video:

We recommend that you use the video editor already installed on your desktop (imovie for IOS or moviemaker for Windows). You can save the file as an mp4 and upload it to social media.

Remember that the maximum length of videos in Twitter is 2'20'' (512Mb). In the server Kapwing you have many tools to edit format, size and speed. Always, videos can be loaded in youtube or vimeo, and the include the link in the twitter post.

DON'T FORGET to include the following at the beginning of your audio or video file:

- #CoronaFairytales

- Title

- What age the children are

- If it is a class or a group, what is the grade, the name of the class, the name of the school

- What town and country the group is from

If you are not able to create an audio or video file, you can always post your CoronaTale in text. Take a picture/screenshot and post it in social media. And of course, feel free to include any drawings!

How can I share my CoronaTale?

We ask you to use social media to share your videos, audio-files or pictures of your tales.

If you are using Twitter, please add the following text to your post

1. #CoronaFairytales (so that it can be searched)

2. The title of the tale

3. If applicable the class name/grade and school, or the age range of the children

4. The town and country they are from

If you also include @CoronaContes, it will be easier for us to retweet, so that it can reach the largest number of children. And do not forget to Follow us, so that you can continue to see what will be published.

We will aim to open other social media accounts very shortly.

"Take a smile. It is for free"

If you have any comments or proposals to make this initiative better, do not hesitate to share them via Twitter or email

Who we are

We are a group of Catalan families that would like to encourage the growth of our children. Situations like the one we are in today should allow us to grow as human beings. Connection, collaboration, inspiration, imagination and most important solidarity with the rest of society are some of the values that we would like to pass to our kids with this initiative. We hope that you like the idea, that you collaborate and contribute, and that you share it with those you love.
